Simple gameplay

Specifically, you control your character to run automatically across various terrains. Your character needs to match the terrain’s color to move through it, so you need to change your character’s color before landing.
The operations are quite simple, you just need to tap the screen in specific areas:
- Tap the right side of the screen to make the character jump, up to two times, or press and hold for a longer time to make the character jump higher and fly further due to inertia.
- Tap the left side of the screen to change the character’s color. You can change the character’s color at any time, even while in mid-air.
Worlds in Chameleon Run
Although it’s auto-play, Chameleon Run’s levels all have a destination. The levels are divided into several themes, also known as Worlds. In the early stages of the game, most of them are locked and need to be conquered sequentially. Currently, there are four Worlds, but they don’t have specific names. Each World has its own unique characteristics in terms of color and speed, along with 8-10 levels. Specifically:
- World 1: This is where we get acquainted with the gameplay of Chameleon Run and the initial steps. The levels here all follow tutorials such as First Steps, Warm Up, The Beginning, and Here We Go.
- World 2: A slightly more difficult version than World 1, with more distances and traps.
- World 3: A Halloween-themed level with high speed and more jumping required.
- World 4: The most difficult level, featuring different perspectives and requiring more skill to conquer.
Your goal for each level
One of the most interesting aspects of Chameleon Run’s levels is perhaps the accompanying missions and objectives. Each level usually has only three main goals, typically:
- Collect Marbles: These can help you find power-ups when you collect enough.
- Collect Smoking Crystals: These have unique shapes and are quite rare in each level.
- The color does not change during gameplay.
Depending on the level, these objectives may differ slightly. You need to complete all of these tasks to unlock the next level. Besides the tasks, Chameleon Run also counts your time to complete each level and awards stars. If you’re a perfectionist, you’ll surely want to aim for the maximum three stars for each level.

In particular, the limited number of game modes can make some players feel frustrated after too many failures and want something different. These are definitely areas where Noodlecake could improve in future updates.
