Background
Stepping into the world of Forgotton Anne, we are introduced to a place called Forgotton Land. This is a world where forgotten things, lost objects, or even people exist. And new members frequently appear here, like a sock left under the bed, for example. Here, these items all have a life of their own and are called Forgotlings.
Besides the Forgotlings, we also meet two humans: Anne – the main character – and Master Bonku – the inventor and Anne’s master. Together, they maintain order among the Forgotlings and develop a giant machine that will allow them to return to the human world. One day, an explosion occurs in Forgotton Land, forcing Anne to investigate. And so, our journey officially begins.
Gameplay
As mentioned above, Forgotton Anne is a lighthearted puzzle-adventure platformer centered around a storyline. Playing as Anne, you embark on a journey to uncover the chaotic events unfolding in Forgotton Land. Through simple controls, you can easily guide Anne through various areas, climbing and solving simple puzzles. The game’s pace is quite slow, allowing you to comfortably explore every corner of Forgotton Land.
Furthermore, in Forgotton, Anne possesses an energy called Anima. This energy powers machinery and controls various devices. Of course, Anne can interact with, absorb, or transmit this energy. This is a rather interesting and important skill in solving puzzles. Additionally, you will occasionally interact with NPCs, and your decisions in these situations can significantly impact the game’s outcome.
Is conquering Forgotton Anne difficult?
As a story-driven puzzle game, Forgotton Anne is considered not too difficult to master. Everything is designed at a moderate level with plenty of hints scattered throughout. Within the first few minutes of the game, you can easily grasp how the puzzles work. The puzzles in the game often involve Anima energy – which will appear quite frequently throughout your exploration.
Usually, you just need to use your ability to absorb energy into your gloves and channel it into nearby machinery to activate them. Then, flip certain switches or mechanisms to solve the puzzles. Most of them have clear logic and aren’t too complicated, so it won’t take much time to complete. It usually takes about 6-8 hours to finish Forgotton Anne, but if you explore the environment more thoroughly and interact with all the NPCs, it might take an extra 1-2 hours.
