Gameplay
In Goblin Sushi, you play as a goblin chef and restaurant owner in a fantasy world. Your main task is to select ingredients from the tray on the left side of the screen and combine them into dishes. If the dish on the conveyor belt matches the customer’s request, you will receive money and experience points.
Every now and then, the goblin landlord will come to collect his debt. You have a short time to prepare the money before he gets angry. The amount demanded will increase with each visit. Ingredients for dishes in Goblin Sushi are limited, and preparation time is very long. If you don’t have enough ingredients, you won’t be able to make the dishes that some diners request.
Additionally, diners have a certain level of patience. If their patience runs out without them receiving their order, they will leave, and you will not receive money, experience, or reputation points.
Random upgrades
Upgrades are a key element that attracts players to the roguelite genre. Goblin Sushi also applies this mechanism as an integral part of the game. Upgrades help your restaurant unlock more dishes, sell each dish at a higher price, and offer many other benefits. Therefore, upgrades make your gameplay more efficient. However, upgrades appear randomly, without any specific pattern. This makes the game unfold in many unpredictable scenarios, creating a wide variety of gameplay styles you can develop.
Goblin Sushi has a total of 67 basic upgrades and 55 hidden upgrades. Basic upgrades will appear in the game levels right from the start.
