Like the first game, Hello Neighbor 2 was initially only available on PC via Steam. But with advancements in technology and the development of developers in the community, ported versions of Hello Neighbor 2 have appeared on Android and several other platforms. Unreal Play Studio, one of the developers, released the Android version of this game.
What’s happening in Hello Neighbor 2?
In the first game, we became acquainted with the strange town of Raven Brooks. In Hello Neighbor 2, events no longer take place within a single house, but throughout the entire town. Here, we can infiltrate many places such as the bakery, museum, and television station… Along with that, the number of residents has also increased significantly. At first glance, the place seems bright and cheerful, but it leaves a feeling of unease if you investigate further.

Gameplay
Hello Neighbor 2 throws us into a first-person puzzle game with stealth elements. Compared to the first game, this one is on a larger scale and reflects the developers’ ambitious goals. Everything in the game revolves around journalist Quentin’s investigation in the town of Raven Brooks. Your task is to find clues by any means necessary, through:
- Sneak into NPCs’ homes, shops, public buildings, etc.
- Search for items like keys, story fragments, etc.
- Decode environmental puzzles to advance to the next part.
- And most importantly, don’t get caught.
But don’t worry too much if you get caught; usually, you’ll just be thrown out of the area and have to start all over again. However, the next time you return, you might face difficulties as the NPCs are all learning AI. Be careful and stay calm, my friend.
AI and Hello Neighbor 2
Upon its release, Hello Neighbor 2 was heavily promoted for its NPCs possessing a self-learning AI system. This meant the game’s NPCs could adapt to the player’s behavior. However, at launch, this AI wasn’t as intelligent as advertised until several updates, when things gradually stabilized. Now, Hello Neighbor 2’s AI system is capable of:
- Player behavior tracking: They record some of your usual actions, such as which windows you climb through, which doors you enter through, where you hide to set traps, and check those areas…
- Automatic patrols: The patrol routes of NPCs are no longer fixed but can change based on the sounds or lights you create, which can be surprising and sometimes quite frightening. Take advantage of this to distract them.
- Each character is a unique AI, however, most of them are not very “intelligent”, so don’t expect too much during the gameplay.
Many new puzzles and challenges await you in Hello Neighbor 2
In Hello Neighbor 2, the puzzles retain the characteristics of the first game, focusing on observation and environmental puzzle-solving. To explore the room, the next step is to unlock the front door. Most of these puzzles lack specific instructions; you have to deduce and analyze them yourself. Another interesting aspect is that these puzzles aren’t repeated too often, perhaps only repeating the same ultimate goal, such as opening a safe, finding a key, or discovering a secret passage…
It’s difficult to say whether the puzzles in Hello Neighbor 2 are easy or difficult. If you’re a frequent player of puzzle games in this genre, you’ll find them quite easy. They aren’t overly complex mathematically or in terms of the mechanics of the game, and don’t require any special knowledge. However, for beginners, the lack of guidance and a quest log is a major obstacle to mastering this game.
