Lost Horizon APK is a cinematic adventure game developed by Animation Arts, a publisher based in the Federal Republic of Germany. The game was first released on PC in 2010 by Deep Silver. A mobile version of Lost Horizon was released in 2015 for both Android and iOS.

Simple storytelling adventure gameplay
In Lost Horizon, players take on the role of Fenton Paddock, a World War I veteran who becomes an adventurer, earning a living by undertaking quests based on rewards from those who grant him assignments. The story in Lost Horizon begins when Fenton is tasked with finding the legendary kingdom of Shangri-La.
On his journey, he meets Kim, a woman with in-depth knowledge of the ancient kingdom. Over time, their journey uncovers not only the secrets of Shangri-La but also the political machinations of the Nazi Germans, who are also searching for Shangri-La.
Lost Horizon features a simple point-and-tap gameplay design. Throughout the game, you’ll tap on designated locations within the environment to interact, talk, collect items, or solve puzzles. These locations are mostly hidden, blending seamlessly into the environmental details. Some even serve as puzzles, you need to find and collect all the necessary items or meet certain conditions during gameplay to be able to interact with them.
Graphics
Lost Horizon features 3D visuals for characters and moving objects, and 2D for environments and static objects. This is an unusual design by today’s graphics standards, but it was quite common before and during the game’s initial release.
In terms of character design – the most important aspect of a storytelling game – Lost Horizon presents relatively good visuals. The characters have just enough detail to be considered beautiful. Each character is well-designed in terms of clothing and facial and body styles that suit their location and personality.
Lost Horizon’s strongest visual aspect is its environmental graphics. Although not 3D but rather hand-drawn 2D, the level of detail in the game’s environments is exceptionally good. The adventure takes you through different lands, each with its own unique 2D landscape design.
The developers of Lost Horizon also thoroughly researched the cultures of the lands they drew inspiration from. Without narration, just a few seconds of looking at the scenery is enough to recognize the land you’ll be exploring in the next stage of your journey.
Character depth in Lost Horizon
Main character – Fenton Paddock
Fenton Paddock, as mentioned above, is a veteran from World War I. He embarks on his journey in Lost Horizon for one simple reason: money. Fenton Paddock, arguably, is a classic anti-hero. He lacks the qualities of a hero and doesn’t possess noble ideals. For much of the game, Fenton Paddock is pragmatic and sometimes acts sarcastically towards others.
However, the scale and severity of the story in Lost Horizon gradually force Fenton Paddock to change. He must choose between risking his life to stand up for justice and confront the Nazis, or not doing so, which would put the world in danger. Not a hero, but Fenton Paddock possesses the morals of a righteous man. From there, Fenton becomes a disaster preventer.
Companion character – Kim Quang
Alongside Fenton Paddock, Kim Wuang is also a central character in Lost Horizon. She plays an extremely important role as Fenton’s companion, as well as the entire story. Kim appears in the game as someone connected to the ancient secrets of Shangri-La. Therefore, Kim possesses a great deal of knowledge about that mysterious land. Guiding the story and providing information is her crucial role in Lost Horizon.
Kim Wuang’s personality is the opposite of Fenton Paddock’s. She is calm and intelligent. Furthermore, unlike Fenton, Kim has a firm ideal from the start. It’s not glory, power, or strength; Kim’s ideal is to protect and safeguard the secrets of Shangri-La. This contrast in personality and ideals with the protagonist Fenton also serves to balance Fenton’s character. And from there, throughout the journey, Kim indirectly changes Fenton’s perspective and guides him towards justice.

With a simple and accessible storyline, well-developed and deep characters, eye-catching graphics, and lighthearted, entertaining narrative gameplay, Lost Horizon offers players a great experience.
