As the name Planet of Lana suggests, Lana will accompany you throughout the entire game. Planet of Lana features a third-person perspective in landscape mode, similar to most platformer games. You control Lana using the joystick on the left side of the screen. Adjust the joystick horizontally to move Lana left and right, and vertically to climb up and down (in the swing or stair climbing mode).
In Planet of Lana, Lana can jump or crouch using the corresponding buttons. When encountering sufficiently high terrain, Lana can cling to the edge of the terrain while jumping, and then you can press the jump button again for Lana to climb up. Crouching helps Lana crawl through narrow terrain and also helps her shrink her size to avoid detection by the robots.
Interact with objects in Planet of Lana
You can tap the virtual “interaction” button (hand icon) to have Lana interact with certain objects in the game. Some objects allow Lana to pick them up and place them in different locations. In those segments, you can switch between Lana and Mui to help each other get through the level. Note that Mui doesn’t have all of Lana’s abilities, but she does have special interactive skills. Therefore, some mechanisms can only be activated by Lana, or only by Mui.

Beyond the puzzles, Lana herself presents a significant challenge for the player. The protagonist in Planet of Lana doesn’t have a health bar, meaning even a minor injury during her adventure can be fatal. Similarly, the robots patrolling the continent will instantly knock Lana unconscious if they get close. She has no chance of escape if you allow a robot to approach her.
In Planet of Lana, it’s safe to say that Lana is quite fragile and vulnerable. However, the game has a rather lenient replay design. If you make a mistake and Lana is defeated anywhere in the level, the game will allow you to try again immediately at the nearest safe point.
