Background
Entering the world of Summer Catchers, we join a young boy on his journey. He wakes up in the woods and meets a woodcutter who is also a wolf. After a short conversation, we learn that the boy’s goal is to find summer, something he has never seen in his life. The wolf-woodcutter tells him that summer is somewhere in the South – a place so far away that even wolves have never set foot there. Of course, our protagonist can hardly travel south on his small feet. So the wolf-woodcutter gives him a wooden cart to cross the icy terrain. Now the search for summer officially begins, but it’s not as simple as we think.
Gameplay
After some time playing, we found that Summer Catchers has a fairly simple and easy-to-learn gameplay. With a wooden cart, we join the main character on a journey south, facing many dangers. The cart will automatically move forward; your job is to use tools to avoid obstacles such as pillars, snow mounds, ice spikes, etc.
Of course, one collision doesn’t end the game. Usually, it takes 2-3 collisions to get you back to the starting line. Note that you can collect mushrooms during gameplay to buy more tools and upgrade your vehicle, making the game last longer. Visit the wolf’s shop whenever you want and find what you need. - Jumper: Activates the vehicle’s bouncing system to help you overcome icy cliffs and snow mounds.
- Booster: Attaches a rocket to the vehicle to increase its speed and overcome steep mountain slopes.
You need to buy these tools from the shop because they are consumed each time you use them. The price you pay is the mushrooms you collect on each trip. Of course, more tools will appear in the future, so take your time exploring to unlock them all.
How to use the tool
When your Summer Catchers adventure begins, pay attention to how you use your tools. Every time you use a tool, a new one will randomly appear, sometimes something you don’t want. You can discard it to find what you need. This needs to be done immediately because we never know what obstacles might be ahead. The maximum number of tools that appear is three, so be extra careful with each use. You should buy tools capable of handling a variety of obstacles to optimize costs and progress further on this journey. For example, the Jumper can overcome both slopes and icy ravines and snowdrifts.
